DKV Rottweilers is a family run operation. Because of this, the quality we’re known for wouldn’t be possible without our full DKV Rottweiler team. While Angel Gutierrez, breeder, trainer, and the heart of DKV, personally handles all Rottweiler care, dog training, and customer interviews, the strength of our program is also supported by his dedicated family. In particular, his wife, Liz Gutierrez, manages everything behind the scenes, from website updates and social media to photography, videos, paperwork, and DKV family communication.

Over the years, their three sons, Angel, Carlos, and Hector Gutierrez, have grown up surrounded by Rottweilers. As a result, they have become a vital part of our day to day operations. DKV families have watched them grow up over the years. Today, they are the ones delivering DKV Rottweilers German Rottweiler puppies for sale across the country. Where My Journey with Rottweilers Began

From the very first moment I interacted with a Rottweiler, I felt an instant connection. Fortunately, the first Rottweiler my wife and I purchased came from a knowledgeable breeder named Will. He was not just selling a dog. He was sharing his passion, experience, and wisdom.

Will introduced me to the breed’s rich history. He gave me books to read and shared countless stories that sparked a deeper fascination. Will was in the military and brought home his first German Rottweiler after returning to the U.S. That dog was Andor vom Schanzerkopf, SchH2, a son of Aki von der Peeler Hütte, SchH3, FH, IPO3. For those familiar with old German working lines, you will recognize Aki as a foundational name in Rottweiler breeding. Hearing about these legendary bloodlines inspired me to dig deeper into the breed’s background and purpose. This was before the Internet. Everything we learned came from books, breeders, and attending dog shows as a family.

Understanding the True Rottweiler Personality

I raised my three sons alongside Rottweilers. I was continually impressed by the breed’s powerful yet gentle nature. At the time, the public image of the Rottweiler was unfairly shaped by Hollywood and news stories. They were portrayed as aggressive or dangerous. My personal experience revealed the truth. Rottweilers are deeply loyal, intelligent, protective, and affectionate. That is when I saw how closely I related to the breed. The Rottweiler is often misunderstood. Many judge the breed by its imposing presence or powerful bark. Behind that strong exterior is a heart full of loyalty and love. Their outer shell exists to protect the softness within. Only those willing to look past the surface will truly understand the soul of a Rottweiler.

Leading the Breed Forward

I have never followed trends. I have helped set them. Long before many European bloodlines became widely known in the United States, I was among the first breeders to import and introduce several of the most respected working and show bloodlines from Europe. My experience goes far beyond ownership. I have spent years showing, competing, and advancing with the Rottweiler breed.

I have always believed that true confidence comes from standing behind what you produce. That is why I proudly show and work the Rottweilers I breed, not just dogs I have purchased. Each generation reflects my hands on involvement, selective decision making, and deep understanding of structure, temperament, and purpose. This approach has allowed me to build Rottweilers that consistently represent strength, balance, and reliability. This is not theory. It is proven through decades of results in real world settings.

A Lifelong Commitment to the Breed

Today, I continue to build on a foundation that spans multiple generations, with some DKV Rottweilers tracing back eight generations within my own bloodlines. That level of consistency does not happen by accident. It comes from long term vision, careful breeding, and an uncompromising standard of quality.

After 30 years with the breed, I still learn something new every day. The Rottweiler’s personality is complex, and each one is uniquely their own. The more time I spend with the breed, the deeper my understanding becomes. It continues to amaze me how not only physical traits, but even subtle personality characteristics, are passed down through generations.

That responsibility shapes every decision I make as a breeder. I personally speak with every potential buyer, take the time to understand each family, and ensure the right match. I also hand deliver every DKV Rottweiler puppy and remain in contact with families from my very first litter, continuing to support DKV owners for the life of their dog. Even after decades with the breed, I believe there is always room to improve, because the goal has never been to stop at success, but to produce better Rottweilers generation after generation.

I do not see myself ever walking away from this breed. How could I abandon something that reflects who I am at the core. Rottweilers are not just what I raise. They are who I am.

Meet Liz, Our Creative Director

Behind every detail of DKV Rottweilers is Liz, the creative force who manages everything you see online. She designs our websites, social media pages, and DKV merchandise. She also photographs our puppies, responds to emails, creates contracts, and guides families through the reservation process. Liz ensures every interaction reflects the professionalism and prestige of the DKV name.

Beyond her role at DKV, Liz finds joy in all things creative. Her interests range from photography and painting to web design and movies. Her love for design and storytelling shines through in everything she touches. Most of all, she treasures her unique role of photographing newborn puppies and sharing their first moments with our extended DKV family.

Meet Our DKV Delivery Specialists

At DKV Rottweilers, delivery is always personal and never left to third party shippers. For over two decades, our three sons have proudly ensured every puppy arrives safely in the arms of its new family. Whether it is a hand delivery by car, meeting at the airport, or flying in cabin across the country, Angel, Carlos, and Hector are the trusted faces behind every DKV delivery.

Angel Gutierrez

Angel, our firstborn, is a seasoned traveler working as a professional flight attendant while also building a following as a social media influencer. With his extensive travel experience, he plays a key role in our nationwide deliveries, ensuring families receive their new Rottweiler puppies safely and with the personal care DKV is known for.

Carlos Gutierrez

Carlos, our second son, is an aviation advisor at a major university and a licensed commercial pilot, currently working toward becoming a certified flight instructor (CFI). His aviation expertise makes him an invaluable part of our delivery team, often flying puppies in-cabin to meet their families across the United States.

Hector Gutierrez

Hector, our youngest, is an aviation mechanic by trade and an entrepreneur at heart, currently launching his own business. Known for his reliability and dedication, Hector helps coordinate and carry out many of our puppy deliveries, bringing the same attention to detail to families that he does to every aircraft he services.
